A desert-like river in Montana; unique! Well known for its large brown trout and crowds. The river seemed a bit slow with no insects hatching, but I managed to do ok after putting in some work. The river was very similar to the East Walker in California. Flows were a near perfect 400cfs.

First time fishing the Yellowstone River and I lucked out by hitting the Mother's Day Caddis hatch. Though I missed out on the emergence, there were millions along the bank and some were egg laying. Flows were about 4k and rising. I think the next day or so the river was blown out with runoff. Too many whitefish... if the hundred or so whitefish were instead trout, it would have been one of the greatest days ever fishing, LOL. I did mange to find a few trout here and there.
